3. What Personal Data We Collect and Why

We collect only the data we need to serve you. The following describes the categories of personal data we collect, what specifically is included, and the purpose for which it is used.

Identity & contact data includes your full name, email address, phone number, and delivery address, and is collected to fulfil orders, send shipping updates, and respond to enquiries. Pet details such as pet name, species, and approximate age or size (provided voluntarily) are collected solely to personalise product recommendations and are not shared with any third party. Transaction data covers order items, amounts paid, and payment method type (not card numbers), and is used to process purchases, issue refunds, and for GST compliance. Account data includes login credentials (hashed), order history, and saved preferences, used to manage your account and provide order history. Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and session duration is collected for website security, analytics, and performance optimisation. Marketing data covering email, SMS, and WhatsApp opt-in status and campaign interaction is used to send marketing communications where you have consented. Communications data, meaning emails, WhatsApp messages, or calls made to customer care, is used to resolve your query and maintain a record of support interactions.

We never collect or store full credit card or debit card numbers on our own servers. All payment data is processed directly by Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd. under their own security and compliance framework.

How we collect data

- Directly from you: when you place an order, create an account, contact us, or complete a form
- Automatically: through cookies and tracking technologies as you browse the website (see Section 5)
- From third parties: delivery status updates from Delhivery/Blue Dart/other logistics providers; payment confirmation from Razorpay

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal grounds:

- Contract performance: Processing necessary to fulfil your order, arrange delivery, process payment, and manage returns.
- Consent: Marketing communications (email, SMS, WhatsApp); advertising cookies (Meta Pixel); optional analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: Retention of transaction records for GST compliance under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act 2017 and Income Tax Act 1961.
- Legitimate interest: Website security, fraud prevention, and improving our services — where these interests do not override your privacy rights.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We and our technology partners use cookies and similar technologies (including pixels and web beacons) to operate the website, measure performance, and deliver relevant advertising.

Essential cookies are set by FurryLiving and Shopify Inc. for session management, shopping cart, checkout, and fraud prevention, and are retained for the session only or up to 1 year. Analytics cookies are set by Shopify Analytics to track page views, traffic sources, and user behaviour on site, and are retained for up to 12 months. Advertising cookies are set by Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Inc.) for ad campaign measurement, conversion tracking, and retargeting audiences, and are retained for up to 180 days. Social media cookies are set by Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC for social sharing buttons and embedded content from Instagram and YouTube, and are retained per each platform's own policy.

Meta Pixel — important disclosure

We use the Meta Pixel, a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms Inc. (parent company of Facebook and Instagram). When you visit furryliving.in, the Meta Pixel:

- Records page views, product views, add-to-cart events, and purchase completions
- Transmits this data, along with your IP address and device identifiers, to Meta's servers in the United States
- Allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram
- Enables us to show you relevant FurryLiving advertisements when you use Meta's platforms

If you are logged into a Meta platform (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp) while browsing our site, Meta may link your browsing behaviour to your Meta identity. FurryLiving does not control this linkage — it is governed by Meta's own privacy policy and terms of service.

Managing cookies

- Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so may affect your experience of the website (e.g., the shopping cart may not function correctly).
- You can opt out of Meta's advertising tracking via your Facebook/Instagram account settings under Ad Preferences, or via the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out at optout.aboutads.info.
- Shopify analytics cookies can be declined by adjusting your browser settings or via your Shopify account preferences. Essential cookies required for checkout and cart functionality cannot be declined as they are necessary for the website to operate.
